Virtual Mental Health
Mental illness is a growing epidemic – you are not alone! Anxiety, depression, and relationship problems are just a few of the stressors making academic success more difficult. During these unprecedented times, students are wondering how and where to find professional therapy without having to leave the security of their residence. This package was designed with no additional out-of-pocket costs to you for the consultations. Plus, services are available without any regard to whether or not a condition is pre-existing. This is why now is the perfect time to try virtual care.
The Premier package provides mental health services from two separate vendors depending on the type of issue. Both vendors, Health Advocate and Teladoc Behavioral Health, provide confidential professional assistance and start by triaging a call and taking immediate action, if necessary. Let’s get started!
Health Advocate provides immediate, no appointment necessary access to a mental health counselor 24/7/365, via phone or video, and is intended for acute ‘in the moment’, short term issues such as missing home, relationship problem, or failing an exam. Two sessions per issue are allowed, and if appropriate, Health Advocate provides referrals to Teladoc for longer term therapy.
Teladoc Behavioral Health provides mental health services for longer term situations such as anxiety or depression without a limit on the number of sessions. Teladoc has mental health therapists as well as psychiatrists who can prescribe medication if needed. Get help by choosing a therapist, make an appointment and be seen Monday-Sunday 7AM to 9PM local time with an average wait time until the first visit is less than 7 days. Preferred method of treatment is video session.
Note: if trying to register online and your account cannot be found, please call (800) 835- 2362 so that Teladoc’s Client Service team can help you locate and set up your account. Once you are finished, you can add dependents and download the mobile app.
Once your account is set up, you can call or use the app to make an appointment with a mental health professional.
